I, too, have thought about fiddling with the advanced settings and quickly realized I did not have enough information to make an educated customized program.

Then I realized the PID was doing it's job with the factory settings. So, until I find a grievous error I will assume the engineers who made the default settings knew more than I about he operation of the PID and I would let it do it's thing while I enjoyed casting and PCing. After all that is what I got it for. When melting clip on wheel weights I set the SV at C which is in the middle between the melting points of lead C and zinc C. My Pid heats the alloy up to and holds it steady there the 5 degree difference is to guard against over temp cycling.

Hi everyone, I just found out something very important with my own rex c, and figured others might not know either. So, it turns out the engineers who made the damn thing included a default feature that tells you an incorrect PV value just to keep you happy.

I think it can be out by a good couple of degrees Celsius which is really not ideal for fermentation or mashing. I found this out when I changed the SV value by a few degrees and the PV value automatically jumped to the new value. But thankfully you can change this! It's called the DF digital frequency? Yours may be different, check your manual. Then you need to hold the SET button to get back to the normal home screen. Then press SET again to move into the menu. Change the last 1 to a 0.

You have successfully turned off the stupid feature! Now to get back to the home screen. I think I just didn't press anything for about 30sec's and it auto went back to the home screen.

If not, try holding SET. Remember to turn your 'LCY' thing back to whatever you want to keep it as. I keep mine as which keeps everything saved and unlocked so I can change it easily.

Hope this helps some people out there! Cheers, Brendan. JohnnyGunn Well-Known Member. Rename the bookmark. Delete bookmark? Cancel Delete. Delete from my manuals? Sign In OR. Don't have an account? Sign up!
